Before you move into a home you, don’t want it to be a habitat for various critters.  While a Home Inspection covers the general systems and structure of a home, the pest inspection is specialized. A pest and termite inspection is a great idea, and may be required, depending on the type of mortgage you’re getting.
Termites are common in North Carolina, due to our warm and humid climate, and one of the the worst infestations you can have.  When termites invade your home, they aren’t satisfied until they’ve caused thousand of dollars worth of damage. You don't want to move into your new home to later discover an expensive surprise. While the home inspector can look for existing damage, the pest inspector can determine if treatment is needed for current activity or if the pests have already been taken care of.
